Eye of the Werewolf - Page 2 Empty Re: Eye of the Werewolf

Post  Kyugima Wed Sep 28, 2011 9:06 pm

(I wrote a huge post then my internet stopped responding!!!! I so want to scream a swear right now but I can't)

Fiona gripped the door handle tight as the two strangers ran past, the expressions on their faces animalistic. Too animalistic for any average human that is. Their expressions reminded her of her brothers when on occasion he would let his werewolf side have a little control over him. Was it possible those two were werewolves like her and her brother? She quickly shook that thought out of her mind, the two were gone, and it was highly unlikely that so many werewolves would gather in one place unless it was a pack, and she was almost certain there wasn't a pack around here, there would be obvious signs if there was a pack right?
Fiona turned her attention back to the girl who was standing at her door, who still seemed to be put off by the two strangers that had just barreled past them. Fiona was about to say something to start up the conversation they had been having again when a howl echoed through the air. Fiona gripped the door handle tighter as she felt the urge to reply to the search howl. Who ever had howled, they had to be a werewolf to get such a reaction from her, they were searching for a reply from another. Moments later she heard teh reply howl, which just made her want to join in more. The howls were so close too...
Fiona mumbled something abouty having left some contraption or another on in her room, worried she would burst out howling in the hallway, closing the door, making sure it was locked. She hurried over to the window, fiddling with the lock for a bit before opening it and almost shoving her head out, howling loudly, praying teh girl who had been outside her room had walked away extremely quickly or started listening to really loud music so she wouldn't have to try and answer her questions about the howling.

~~~Ryan~~~
Ryan turned his attention away from the girl who had come running after him when he had run from his sister's room, hearing howling in the distance, recognising Fiona's howl, nearer than the other two howls. He could also tell one howl was male by the tone, or a really masculine female. His features twisting into a pout and then a frown as he thought of his sister howling to another male but him. No male had the right to get her attention but him!
"No way am I letting her howl to another without my say in it!"
He started back towards the bedroom, not caring that Jess was right there, and probably confused about what he had just said.
Jess heard the howl; it froze her in her place. Deep and loud, it couldn't be Kate...
Then the other one sounded. A distinct tone that was slightly more feminine, in more of a sad song than a deep bane. Kate! She's in danger!
Jess became frantic, pausing for a moment when Ryan spoke. She shook her head, knowing her sister was more important.
"I gotta go I have something super importanttodobye!!" she yelled after him, sounding as if she just swallowed a pound of sugar. Racing off to where she heard the howl, she didn't care if she left Ryan behind.
"NICEMEETINGYOU,RYAN!" Jess called over her shoulder.
With a malicious lick of his lips Vane stood to approach. His eyes honed in on Kate whilst she howled. However. Just as he got to the bottom of the tree another howl sounded from campus. Unlike the mournful tone of his target it sounded more frantic, like an outburst. He snarled, trying to decide, looking between Kate and the dorms. Eventually curiosity won out. His eyes began to lighten and his body relaxed as he called out another searching howl. With all three werewolves baling at once at different pitches it made an eerie sound in the night.
Kathrine held both her hands over her mouth as Vane howled again; the gesture made it look like she was about to puke. She knew that if she howled again, he would find her.
She tensed, the urge to howl again overwhelming. Stuff it. If the bastard starts a fight I'll be ready for him. Kate released her hands and howled again, hearing the tense third howl of someone inside the dorms.
Fiona groaned as she heard them howl again. Were they trying to get her caught? Ryan would have already caught wind of what she was doing by now, and was probably on his way back. She let out another long howl, gripping teh windowsill tight. people were sure to complain and come banging on her door soon.
~~~Ryan~~~

Ryan tried to hold back a howl of his own, spotting an open window. He clambered through it, howling as he ran on the roof, before climbing to Fiona's open window. He glared out at the trees.
"You know them?"
Fiona shook her head.
"Nope, but if they keep this up we're going to have some issues, people will get curious as to what's going on. We might as well leave before people start bothering us."
She climbed out the window, dropping to the ground, Ryan just behind her. She ran towards the tree's with Ryan.

Now Norah really was supicious, if suspicion it could be called. Halfway done the hall she paused, for coming right out the door of the girl she was just speaking with another howl sounded. She was sure it was coming from her, it had to be. Norah's brown eyes, usually distant and windering, suddenly grew into a knowing and keen look, even a brow beginning to furrow slightly. Human beings often dismissed small facts of what couldn't possibly be real, making statements or observations that seemed more natural to them than from what really was, though sometimes their own facts seemed ridicules. Even now as Norah stood there, two boys were walking down the hall with both of them covering there ears.

"Ugh! All this howling is annoying!" one of them was saying.
"Yeah, that wolf pack sure is awefully close."
"You sure its a wolf pack?" the first asked doubtfully.
"Of course, what else coukd it be?"
Yet as he said it, Norah saw doubt and uncertainty in both their eyes, but both still clung to the idea.
Norah wasn't so easily fooled, she knew now more than anything this wasn't normal, and she was going to find out what exactly this was.

But, knocking on the young woman's door was out of the question. The young teen wouldn't be able to get answers that way, for the truth could be hidden in clever tales and explanations. No, she'll have to catch them in the act. Turning away from the door, little Norah continued her walk down the hall, this time a little faster and with a determined look on her face. It wasn't long until she reached the outside world, and to her surprise she saw two figures climbing out of a window not too far off. Norah immediately hid behind a nearby tree, watching.

It's that girl, Norah blinked as she recognized the facial features of the young lady she had spoken with before, then also recognize the male she had seen running down the hall when she first knocked on their door, the one the girl had said was her brother. For some reason, as Norah observed the siblings, she didn't (continued)

(continued)...feel surprised to see them both there.

Once the two had touched ground, they slipped on through the trees, vanishing in their shadows. Norah stood where she was for a moment, her gaze wondering yet focused. When Norah had a goal set in her mind, pratically nothing could stop her, not even her imagining mind and the world's distractions, like that ladybug over there...

Norah dismissed the crawling creature and focused ahead again. Then, pulling away from the tree, she followed after the two siblings, her steps unhumanly light and quick, moving like the grace of a cat and hardly stirring a leaf around her.

Vane licked his lips when he heard her again. Grabbing the branches he hauled himself onto the first level. Another male howled into the night. Vane froze, snarling at the sound of competition but his eyes lightened hen he heard footsteps approaching, his hormones calming when he turned and jumped to the floor just in time before a boy and a girl appeared.

As the male climbed, Kate bunched her muscles up and bared her teeth, waiting for them to clash. However, the next howls and the sound of footsteps caught her out of her battle-like state, getting quiet once again in hopes that Vane would forget where she was.

~

Jess, in horror, realized each howl she heard practically was different. She had never known so many werewolves were around... Even though she was human, Jess had enough experience around the supernatural to know what the difference was between a wolf howl and a werewolf howl. She frowned at all of the people assuming it was just a wolf pack; they had no idea. She wanted to tell them, but Kathrine always warned that the truth can make most humans scatter like frightened rats from a tiger, and it is best to just leave them ignorant for a while.
Jess burst through the door outside, seeing two boys and a girl, one of them Ryan. She just met him before? She looked up to see Kate in the trees doing some signal with her hand under her chin and neck, telling her to 'get out' with increasing intensity, pointing toward Vane.
Jess quickly backed up into the shadows, hoping none of them saw her, but she knew that was a foolish assumption. She suddenly became disturbed, knowing not much could frazzle the fearless and proud Kathrine.

Norah kept pace with the siblings, keeping at a good distance for their hearing would no doubt be keener than others if she suspected them to be what she thought they were. Soon there was a cleaeing up ahead, and because of her oh so trusty sight, she saw what lay in wait, the male that she had seen chasing the female. Before she herself could be noticed, she side stepped into a shadow cast by a tree, bracing her back to it. Heart beating rapidly, Norah peered over the tree slowly. She was still some distance from the clearing itself, perhaps a tree or two away, but she could see everything perfectly as if she was standing right in front of them. This was all thanks to her Gryphon eyes, and she wasn't even using her far sight. The young teen could go back further in the woods and still be able to see them, but the real problem was her hearing. Though more keen than an average human's, they still weren't the best and she wanted to be able to hear them. Luckily, the wind, though slight, seemed to be drifting towards her, so words would be carried down to her along with it and carry her scent away as a bonus. By now Norah was extremely suspicious of this group of people, which all appeared after the sounds of howling. It certaintly would be odd and suspicious for a group of ordinary kids to be out in the woods at this time of night and meeting together after howls have been heard.

Vane's eyes returned to their usual green though the gold speck was still barely visible. Putting one hand behind his back he made a salute gesture to them in greeting. "Hi! Um, I hope I'm not interrupting anything, you guys continue on with your rendesvouz or whatever" he smiled. One finger behind his back pointed towards Kate reminding him he remembered her. A movement in the shadows made him notice Jess, sending a glance straight at her but then another movement further away had him looking but he couldn't make out too far from where he was.

He couldn't help but glare at the rival in front of him.

Fiona gave Vane a wave as she and Ryan walked in on him, the two of them unaware of Kate in the tree. She grinned at him.
"Hey. What you doing out here by yourself? Aren't you worried about all those wolves? The y could come creeping and snatch you away and no one would ever see you again. And don't mind us, we came out to investigate the howls. Quite serene, don't you think?"
Ryan just watched as Vane looked around, turning his head to try and see what he was looking at. When he turned his attention back to Vane he saw the Glare, glaring back just as hard, a small growl rising in his throat. Fiona elbowed him in teh side to stop him. Until they confirmed whether she was right in thinking that This boy was a werewolf they certaintly couldn't risk exposing who they were, and afterwards they couldn't either, she wouldn't risk a fight between the two males.

"Yes, they could, it's very dangerous, some can even climb trees" he spoke the last part a little louder to make sure the strange monkey girl heard him. His attention was split between all the possible threats until another growl made him focus on the one in front of him.

He got a little closer, resisting the urge to strike out, he wasn't that sort of wolf, he had lost some control with the girl but now shock had gone he was fighting his instincts to return to normal.

"What are you?" He deliberately misworded his usual question of "Who are you?"

Eye of the Werewolf - Page 2 Empty Re: Eye of the Werewolf

Post  Katsa Fri Oct 14, 2011 6:24 pm

The heart pounding in her chest seemed so loud for a moment she though the whole wood could hear it. But was it that caused it to do so? Fear? Excitement? Anticipation? Maybe all the above. Norah gently laid a hand on the bark as she peered behind it, straining to listen to the conversation. Oh if only her ears were as keen as her eyes! No matter, as long as they didn't speak to quietly the wind carried their voices to her, though small. How the wind was her companion, she depended on it a lot and many times it had helped her that it was pratically a friend.

Wolves climbing trees? Norah thought to herself in puzzlement as the larger male's voice was carried clearly through the air. As if expecting one to be among the branches, Norah momentarily cast her gaze upwards, her round yet sharp eyes investigating the leaves as if they held some secret. Which, in a way, they probably did since they seemed to be concealing a girl just above the male. It was the one he had been chasing. Now what was she doing up there?

Lowering her gaze, she continued to watch the scene before her, still waiting and watching to see how it turned out. The males didn't seem to like eachother, and the looks they gave caused Norah to absently grip the bark so hard her knuckles turned white. But something else made her grip harder, and it was the last sentence the larger male said to the siblings: "What are you?"

Was it simply a mistake and he had meant to say who instead of what, or had that been intentional? Norah's heart began to beat faster and it felt like it was happiness flowing through her veins, though she couldn't be sure of why quite yet.

The male, Vane, was testing Kathrine's patience.
The sneering challenge he gave her, the mocking tone in his voice made the hair on her neck rise. If she were in her other form it'd be more obvious. She noticed Jess going back into the shadows and scowled; human curiosity was indeed a funny thing.
Kate watched the scene before her, growling deeply. She was still on edge, the occasional flutter of a leaf making her jump very slightly on the branch she was perched on. She hoped that her weight wouldn't sway it too much.
Kathrine was not exactly a lithe woman.
"What are you?" she suddenly heard Vane ask.

The bastard knows, she thought. Suddenly, her arms and legs began to cramp up; she needed to get down. The werewolfess wasn't used to climbing trees and staying perched in them for so long. Slowly, she climbed her way down, the nails on her fingers aiding her as she glided somewhat gracefully down the trunk. She hoped no one saw her, careful to move behind the trunk to obscure most of her body.

Fiona laughed lightly as Vane suggested that wolves could climg tree's, but allowed her eyes to wonder upwards in time to see the girl that he had been chasing hide herself behind the tree trunk as she began her descent down from her perch in the tree. Fiona walked forward, just walking past Vane without a second glance, heading towards the girl who had been chased up the tree.
"You alright up there? Need any help getting down? I can get my brother to help if you do."
~~~
Ryan wasn't interested in what his sister was saying or doing, his eyes locked firmly on Vane, his growl getting louder as Fiona left his side and strolled past the rival male. Ryan knew what he was, and would rather just try and chase the male off rather than what ever games Fiona was playing, despite this other male was bigger and probably not someone Ryan could win against easily, perhaps not without help from his sister. His growling lowered as the male asked what they were, not who.
"What are you getting at? You suggesting we're aliens or something?"
The anticipation kept growing and growing inside Norah as she strained her ears to listen in on the conversation while doing her best to stay out of sight. Why were the two males so challenging of one another? Norah wondered. They seemed angered by nothing more than the other being in their presence, for as far as Norah knew neither male did something to the other to cause the reactions.
Thinking back, the dark-haired female recalled how her father sometimes behaved that way when someone got to close to his family. Norah never really understood it much back then either.
Very sudden but softly, the wind shifted direction. Absent-mindedly, the young teen felt the wind gently brush by her cheek and bare hands and toward the group a little ways in front of her.
As she was near the center of the trunk, Kathrine noticed one of the females approach the base.
"No, I don't need help," she hissed. Putting one foot down to descend farther, a sudden roar made her leap. With Vane's loud accusation, Kathrine slipped with her nails on the bark. The hard fiber snapped beneath her nails, and with a loud yell she fell the rest of the way down the trunk.
~~~

Jess cried out in surprise when the situation suddenly became violent. She jumped, running from the shadows to get away from the conflict, stopping when she heard Kate fall. Conflicted, Jess looked left then right, double taking a few times in confusion. Was Anyone still sane?!

The sudden attack and yell of the male startled Norah so much that she instinctively drew herself completely behind the trunk with her back braced against it, frozen with shock. Yep, there was no doubt now of who these people were, or at least the male.

Motion a little way to the right of her caused Norah's chocolate-brown eyes to flicker in the direction as another young teen(Jess) seemed to be either crazy or undecided of which way to go. How didn't Norah notice her before? Was she also a werewolf? If not, what could she be doing here?

Now that the gryphon-girl recovered herself from the shock, worry for this other female grew in her. What if the attacking male saw her, or if the others were werewolves, would they attack her too? What if they all got into a huge fight?

Memories flooded into Norah's mind, and she shut her eyes as they came forth. Her father always had trouble controling the animal part of himself. Rampages, anger, rage... Maybe they happened to any kind of were, and so that was why the male was striking. The only question now, then, is what should she do?

A young girl with plain, long black hair and unusual bronze eyes and her male friend was walking down through the forest, when suddenly they heard someone shout "Werewolf!". Blinking her eyes, she stood there, confused at the abnormal shouting and looked at her friend.

"What is that?" She asked her friend, looking at him for confirmation.
"I don't really know. Sounds like.... one of our kind. Should I go?"
"No, I'll go. You just head back to your house. I'll be there soon"
And so the male nodded and started running away from her, as she delved deeper.

Her body started coiling up, getting tense and wanted to tear up the whole forest, wafts of anger running through. It was startling and she didn't know why she was acting like this, there couldn't possibly be werewolves in this forest. Could it? She didn't know but was gonna find out.

Both males hit the floor with a thud, Vane got a firm grip on Ryan's top, gripping it hard in his fists, heart racing from the adrenaline.
He lifted one hand and began raining punches down on the smaller guy's general person, not caring if he got blocked or not. It had been a long time since Vane had been near a rival male and his fury was unleashed on poor Ryan.
A small twinge of pain showed across his face as his chest tightened, he was off guard for a moment as his body jerked in a spasm.

Panic went through Norah when the other male pounced on the second, eyes widening with shock. There was hardly anything that frightened her more than fighting, and right then she wanted to turn and run for it. But she couldn't leave them like that.

Quickly looking around, a rock caught her eye. Quickly grabbing it, it fit nicely in her palm, the weight and size excellent to throw. Prying herself away from her hiding spot, heart beat quickening, Norah used her keen sight to lock an aim on the larger male(Vane). Drawing her arm back, she forced her nerves to calm so her aim wouldn't be off, then released. The rock flew cleanly through the air, but Norah didn't try to make a killing or deadly aim. It was risky, especially now that her cover was most likely revealed and she placed herself in danger, but Norah didn't want to kill or harm the young man, just wanted to throw him off balance to give the sibling a chance to get away.

Ryan was stunned as the larger male leapt at him, screaming the accusation of Werewolf, the breath knocked right out of him as he was pushed backwards, hitting the ground hard. The first couple of blows hit him with ease before he thought to defend himself, his hands covering his face and neck as a few more hits fell at him, retaliating when he had a chance, his own fists flailing at the larger male.
"Get the hell off of me!"
Fiona's head turned quickly as she heard the shout, in time to see Vane and Ryan fall to the ground. She was about to intervene when she was distracted by the sound of the girl who had been in the tree falling down, tempted to ask if she needed help, but her brother was more important to her. She stood in place, anger at the fact that the male had DARED to strike out at her little brother the way she did, her fists clenched tightly and trembling as she battled with her bodies want to change and tear the large, male to shreds.

Vane had gained several blows from his rival, surprised at the guy's strength, he may have been small but that male must've been mostly muscle.

However the final blow came as he paused when a fairly substantial rock hit his chest near his shoulder, knocking him backwards, winded as his tense muscles jerked backwards. He lay flat out on his back, panting as his vision swam with the temporary lack of oxygen.

Now subdued and struggling to move, Vane could only wait for his fate at the hands of several werewolves, all of which he had directly or indirectly pissed off. So this was always how he was going to meet his end, at the hands of a pack. He closed his eyes in a grimace and braced himself for pain.
